Emily & Matthew tied the knot on July 8th at the Double-Tree Hotel, in Bay City Michigan! The weather that day was pretty all over the place, from sunshine to tornadoes sirens (two sirens went off to be exact), but it didn’t stop the day from happening! To be perfectly honest, we did have one hiccup that I will never forget… just a minor one, when a tree split in half & fell onto Emily, her bridesmaid, and myself! Yes, you read that right & you can see the tree at the bottom of this blog post that fell. It was pretty out of nowhere, the wind all of a sudden gusted over us, then it was silent & just moments later the tree split in half. Definitely shook us up & we all ran back into the hotel, fixed the bridesmaids split in half dress, cleaned up Emily & got ourselves back together!
After getting all cleaned up & in from out of the odd-ball weather, we resumed the day! We headed on over Pere Marquette Depot after the rain moved their ceremony indoors, and it was absolutely perfect! Right after Emily & Matthew said their “I Do’s”, the sun came right back out & shined through the Depot’s windows, it was stunning! Emily & Matthew’s wedding day was the real deal, it tested them both & yet they came out ‘happily-ever-after’, just as planned! They even began to find humor in the days minor difficulties after time went on. It just goes to show that nothing in life is perfect, we can’t control a lot of things, but we can love like crazy, trust that God will never give us anything we cannot handle, and to continue on no matter what difficulties might come your way.
This wedding was a dream & the details were perfection! We cannot thank Emily & Matthew enough for having us be apart of their special day; Em & I will always have our tree story to share, no matter what! 😉

We were so lucky to have Katelynn as our photographer! She was truly amazing to work with! We found Katelynn through a friend who had previously booked her for her wedding. Wedding photos were really important to me and I wanted memories that we could cherish for the rest of our lives. After seeing her work, we knew that we wanted her to capture our wedding day! She made coordinating locations and poses stress free.
