Detroit engagement sessions get me every time! Katie & Jason’s was no different, simply incredible and the heat was all the way up, the entire shoot! These two smoke shows are such models, and their Detroit engagement photos only prove that. The people of Detroit are always so kind, and so helpful. Everyone at the Detroit Foundation Hotel were the best, so accommodating, and with everything going on in the world, it was incredible to work with such humbled people. The engagement photo spots were endless at the Detroit Foundations hotel and Apparatus Room. They were even so kind to make Katie & Jason some cocktails to go along with their Detroit Inspired engagement photos.
In all honesty, we had tried to capture this shoot multiple different times, and the weather, covid and other factors kept forcing us to reschedule and change our locations. Katie & Jason never lost their spirit (at least to me!????) & were always open to all my new ideas I sent there way. When they jumped right on board to the Detroit Foundation Hotel engagement photos idea, I was geeked! As you will see, they lit up every photo, and it was all so meant-t0-be! I was SO happy in that moment thinking how everything happened for a reason, and I don’t think we would have captured nearly as rocking of photos at our previous ideas!
After we finished their Foundation Hotel photos, we headed to The Shinola Hotel alley for the remainder of their engagement shoot. Their wardrobe fit this spot to a “T” & I was so thrilled to see the Holiday decor had already been placed up, just in time! As you will, Katie & Jason are truly perfect for one another, and we are so excited to document their wedding this Summer! Enjoy their super romantic Detroit engagement photos!

I cannot imagine our special day without her. From the moment I inquired back in August of 2020, to our wedding day October 2021, Kate was with us every step of the way. She was amazing at communicating, answering my (many) questions, and making us feel so comfortable in front of the camera! Throughout this process, she\ became a great friend as well. We were so lucky to have Katelynn as our photographer! She was truly amazing to work with! We found Katelynn through a friend who had previously booked her for her wedding. Wedding photos were really important to me and I wanted memories that we could cherish for the rest of our lives. After seeing her work, we knew that we wanted her to capture our wedding day! She made coordinating locations and poses stress free. We had a large bridal party and were a little worried about pictures being chaotic, but Katelynn was so patient with everyone and made it look like a breeze!
